01 How Much Is The Course, What Is The Tuition?
The tuition fee for the PGCE course in 2025 is £3,250 GBP. Payments can be made in GBP, RMB, or any other currency accepted by the university. Please check the exchange rate before making a payment, as rates may vary daily and could be subject to additional exchange fees. For those interested in the Master’s in Education, the tuition fee for 2025 is £9,750 GBP. Payment options remain the same as above.
02 Are Instalment Plans Available?
Yes! The university offers three payment options:
Full Payment – Pay the complete tuition fee before 27th September.
50/50 Plan – Pay 50% before 27th September and the remaining
50% before 27th January. 9-Month Instalment Plan (Exclusive through Englisher Ltd) – Pay in 9 easy instalments from May to January:
To qualify for the instalment plan, you must receive an unconditional or conditional offer by the end of May.
03 How Many Credits is the PGCE?
The PGCE carries 60 credits, divided into three modules of 20 credits each.
04 Is The Course Fully Online?
Absolutely! This PGCE is 100% online through distance learning. All assignments are
self-paced, and weekly drop-in sessions are recorded so you can study whenever it suits you.
05 Can I Get Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) After The PGCE?
Yes! If you're planning to teach in the UK, you can take the QTS
assessment course after the PGCE.
It's a great step for those wanting to become fully qualified teachers in the UK. However, if you're teaching in Asia and not targeting a leadership role, the PGCE alone is already a powerful, internationally recognised qualification.
06 How Long Does The Course Last?
The course runs from September to July, but many students finish as early as May, depending on how quickly they complete assignments. We recommend 6-8 hours of study per week to stay on track.
07 Is There A Difference From Doing A PGCE Online Compared To On-Campus?
No! The PGCE you will graduate with is the same as what a teacher would get in the UK studying it on campus! You will get the same certificate, and it doesn’t mention it was done online too.
08 What’s The Difference Between A PGCE And A IPGCE?
This course awards a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), not an International PGCE (PGCEi). The PGCE is widely recognised for teaching roles across different countries.
09 Is This Course Accredited And Recognised Worldwide?
Yes! Leeds Beckett University is a fully accredited higher education institution, officially recognised since April 1, 1989. It was granted degree-awarding powers in 1992 and university status in 1993.
The university is governed by the Board of Governors and the Academic Board, ensuring academic quality and recognition. It is also registered with the Office for Students (OfS) in the UK.
10 What Is The Refund Policy?
Full refund within 14 days of the course start. 50% refund after 3 months.
After 3 months, tuition is non-refundable.
However, you can defer your place to the next course year at no extra cost.

The PGCE consists of 3 assignments – no exams, no practical work!

15 How Is The PGCE Graded?
You need to complete an assignment for each module. The module is marked out of 100 based off the assignment, then the final grade is based off the average of the three modules. There are no attendance policies, exams or practical’s; it is based off the quality of the assignment. making it the best solution for a teacher who is working full time.
16 What Documents Do I Need To Apply?

English Proficiency: If you're from a non-native English-speaking country, you’ll need to provide proof of English proficiency.
Accepted Tests: IELTS, Duolingo English Test, or LanguageCert (online).
Quick & Easy: You can take the Duolingo test online to meet the requirement.

The PGCE has only one intake per year.

Yes! We strictly follow the Data Protection Act 2008 to ensure that your information remains safe. Your data and documents are only used for the PGCE application process with Leeds Beckett University.

The PGCE is delivered online using Blackboard, MyBeckett, and Turnitin. These platforms are user-friendly and give you access to lectures, resources, submissions, and tutor feedback.
22 What Tech Do I Need?
You’ll need a laptop or desktop, stable internet, and basic software like Word or Google Docs. A webcam and microphone are helpful for discussions. No advanced tech skills are required.

Yes! All sessions are recorded and accessible via the MyBeckett platform, so you can revisit them anytime.
24 Can I Download Materials?
Yes, you can download learning materials through the online student library. We also provide a rich set of journal articles via Dropbox to help you begin your reading.
25 Can I Access Everything Without VPN?
Yes, if you are located in China, you don’t need a VPN, and it is fully accessible without one.
26 What Can I Study After The PGCE?
Completing the PGCE opens up exciting opportunities to further your qualifications — and save money while doing it! Many graduates continue with a Master’s in Education.
As a PGCE graduate, you can convert your credits toward a Master’s degree, reducing both the tuition fee and study duration. Plus, with an alumni discount of up to 40–50%, the cost can drop from £9,750 to around £5,500.
This makes it more affordable to complete the PGCE first and then upgrade to a Master’s than paying full price for the Master’s alone.
